For those of you who got the Guild Wars 2 SoS ask, it wasn’t spam! Just read this charter and I hope to get to know you guys better on the forums.
The Sea of Stars was formed in June 2010 and was originally based on the SquareEnix game, Final Fantasy XIV. In the span of three or so months we had accrued about 60 active members on our forums, with 30 or so members that came and went as casual gamers. After the (unfortunately abysmal) launch of XIV, the guild died down and we maintained a closely-knit group of 17 members over the past 2 years. With the recent buzz around Guild Wars 2 and Diablo III, our little family of members has started to play a more active role. We’ve started up a version 2.0 of our forums, and I’m currently in the process of revamping our site to reflect our new game “charters.” And while possibly not relevant here, we are in good standing with a majority of the other Final Fantasy XIV Linkshells (their version of the guild system) on Lindblum and are close allies to the Star Onions and their leader, a very prominent member of the FFXI Killing Ifrit community and FFXIVCore Icon, Tonka, whose own guild will be making an appearance in GW2 with us.
Our current recruitment drive is a simplified attempt to draw more members to our cause. Our guild’s playstyle has not been determined yet, so while we do list ourselves as PVX currently, there is a chance we might sway hard towards PVP as a server choice, depending on our alliances and member opinions. We are accepting all interested parties that we feel identify with our goals. We operate between the Central and Eastern timezones, and the age of our members ranges from 18 to 34, but we have no problems with members from outside our current ranges. In our heyday, our members were from Asia, Europe, and Central America, so don’t feel shy! If you believe you might be a fit with us, we welcome your company! We accept polite and considerate members of all ages and all nationalities, ethnicities, and orientations.
As the Sea of Stars, our mission is simple. We aim to be the very best at what we do, no matter what your style of gameplay might be. Simply put,we think that as a group we possess the most determination to excel and overcome all obstacles in our MMORPGs and we’ll have the most fun getting there. We welcome everyone that would like to try out our recently remade forum and see for yourself if you fit with our guild. Our old forums are also available for your perusal if you require more convincing; I’m certain you’ll find our environment a safe and fun environment.
Thank you for reading and for your consideration! We hope to see you on our forums!
Aww yeah. SoS is back! :D
I know your robots.txt says, “No” but your website says, “Yes”.
I’m a bit of a sucker for poppy lyrics over synth/electro/dancey tracks and always have been. Music from artists like Ellie Goulding, David Guetta, and to a greater extent Imogen Heap seems to fit into my life. The song “Toes” by Lights is in this same vein
I may or may not have had this song on repeat for the past week.
5th Blog Birthday
So Tumblr used to send out emails when your blog had a birthday. Maybe they still do for your first birthday, I dunno.
Anyway, mine just turned 5 on Sunday! It’s crazy that I’ve been using Tumblr that long. I know I haven’t been very active as of late, but I promise I’ll try and work on that once summer rolls around.
It’s been awesome meeting so many people here, and I look forward to many years of tumbling yet to come. :D
