Coming up with 352 more witty blog titles is going to be tough…
This morning, I had to go and register for another class to take the place of the Fiber Optics class that didn’t make it. I went with LAN Hardware and Wiring because it’s fun and is scheduled at an even better time than Fiber Optics: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-8:20/ That way, I only have to miss one day of work at the Commissary instead of two. Yay!
Next up on my list was taking some financial aid documents to the Harvin Center. After everything was said and done, surprise surprise, I still don’t qualify for anything except for unsubsidized loans. Even though my parents made a lot less money in 2008 than they did in previous years, I guess it was still barely too much to land me any free money. Hopefully my first semester at UTSA will yield some results because by then, my parents can use their 2009 tax return, and they made a heck of a lot less money this past year because of C.C. Marble going downhill.
Speaking of UTSA, I’ll probably need to stay at Del Mar an extra semester just to get a few extra classes done. If I do this, I’ll end up with now one, but two associate degrees, a certification in fiber optics and I’ll have spent a fraction of the price I would’ve paid at a university. Moving out and getting my own place is cool and all, but I’ve got it good living with my parents. Less debt in the future > everything else.
5:30 rolled around and it was time for the class I had signed up for this morning. I saw Ernest in the hallway, and turns out he was taking the same class, so at least I already had a friend there. The professor is Mr. Delagarza, who wanders all around the Venters Building and even visited Mr. Stewart’s class quite often, so I already knew who he was. There are only about ten of us, so it should mean that the hands-on stuff will be exciting.
Just a while ago, I decided to start on the fitness program that Jeff started yesterday. When they named it Insanity, they weren’t joking around. The first day was pretty challenging already, and it was only a fitness test to measure your abilities! I’m hoping to stick to it for the full sixty days. I’ll update on that every week or so.
Well, my internet keeps dropping, so I guess that’s a sign I should head to bed. I need to be up early tomorrow morning for class anyway.
