Sky Sailing

So I recently found out about a side-project of Adam Young called Sky Sailing, which is apparently what he recorded in the summer of 2007 before releasing his first record as Owl City.

And I kind of love it.

It’s still Adam and his “I’m not gay, I swear!” lyrics, but with more acoustic guitars and pianos, both of which I have a soft spot for in songs. It’s all very relaxing, and I’ve found myself listening to the album on repeat for the last week or so.

I know Owl City leaves a bad taste in some people’s mouths, because it leaves one in mine as well after “Fireflies” having been worn out on the radio, but this is a nice change of pace for him. If you like Owl City, you’ll love Sky Sailing.
