Brownie burnout
Feb. 27, 2010
I’m totally stealing Jeff’s title. Whatever; it’s cute!
Jeff, Trey and Montishia came over to bake brownies after work. Before we did that though, we went to Hunan Express and my parents paid for all of us. I heard Jeff say thanks twice, but I don’t recall Trey or Montishia saying anything at all, and that really pisses me off. Jeff said that he heard Montishia say “thanks,” but neither of my parents heard her, so it doesn’t really count…
We got home and put the brownies in the oven, and while they were baking we went to the train tracks and met some people fishing. Later on we tried to go explore a “haunted” house, but it turns out they tore it down. Sad day. :(
Next up: cupcakes.
Sarku!
Feb. 26, 2010
Sad to think that eating Sarku at the mall was the highlight of my day. Okay, maybe not…but it’s been so long since I’ve had it!
Hanging out with Seth and Jeff at Jordaareo’s was a blast, as usual. :D
Second successful speech
Feb. 25, 2010
I ♥ alliteration! :D
Okay, first off, I’d like to apologize. Apparently I’ve been saving my posts as “drafts” instead of real posts, so none of them have gotten published. I was wondering why my page views plummeted… :(
Anywho, I woke up this morning and wrote my entire speech, but I was a lot more prepared this time. I gave my speech and pulled it off a lot smoother than my first one, so I’m feeling pretty great about that.
History was still just as interesting as it was on Tuesday!
History fun?
Feb. 23, 2010
We started giving our persuasive speeches today, but I don’t give mine until Thursday. I was freaking out last night because I thought I had forgotten to write my speech, but it was all for naught! ;D
I think I learned more about European history in the 1500s in the hour and a half of history class today than I have about all of history throughout all of my schooling prior to this. Seriously, Dr. Betty is an awesome teacher. He said he was putting together a puzzle of sorts, and I can see it all coming together. I never would have thought I’d find history interesting…never!
ICC was fun, but again, we failed at Festergut. But we did get a whole lot more done afterwards, which was neat.
…Followed by a typical Monday
Feb. 22, 2010
LAN hardware was a snooze fest as usual.
Was supposed to go to Stingers with Jeff but he canceled, so I was gonna go alone…but decided it would be best if I didn’t. I didn’t wanna be a fatty by myself. :(
Attempted the 25-man ICC that I missed last week since a few people were no-shows. We failed hardcore. Gonna try again tomorrow night from scratch, so that’s good.
Sleepy~
Feb. 20, 2010
So I got to my internship at 8:30, and waited…and waited…and finally, it was almost 9:00 and still nobody had shown up. I called my mom, and she told me to wait until 9:15, and if no one had shown up by then, I should leave a note and go to the Commissary. I waited fifteen minutes, and finally someone showed up to unlock the doors for me. I spent three hours doing absolutely nothing, but hey, at least I was getting paid to surf the internet, right?
I dunno what’s gotten into melately, but these past few Saturdays I’ve had no motivation to work whatsoever, and today was no exception. I ended up doing pretty well, but didn’t make nearly as much money as I would’ve had I tried.
After work, I was supposed to chill with Jeff, Trey and Montishia, but we all ended up taking a long nap instead. We all woke up around 11:00 and had a fun escapade in the middle of the night doing simple, random things. :)
Pervy old men
Feb. 19, 2010
After a surprisingly entertaining time at work, Seth picked me and Jeff up from my house and we headed to the mall to meet up with Aaron, Jordan and Leo. Then we headed over to Barnes & Noble where I picked up a copy of What Would Google Do? by Jeff Jarvis, whom I’m a big fan of.
Seth and I decided to split up and get coffee while everyone else grabbed some pizza, and on our way to Seth’s car, we noticed an older man sitting in the corner, in front of the huge window, on his netbook, using the free Wi-Fi to look at…porn. Porn! After Seth and I got our epic lulz, being the creeper I am, I took a picture of him, then knocked on the window before running around the corner. Seth’s car was on the other side of the building, so we turned around and walked past the window again, only to find him still looking up porn! Ugh, pervy old men, I swear…
We got to Starbucks and I got a white chocolate mocha frappuccino, which kinda tasted like really good milk mixed with coffee, but it wasn’t anything special. We met up with everyone at Jordaareo’s house and spent the rest of the night watching trailers for horrible movies/games and playing The Da Vinci Code, which is based on a movie, which in turn is based on a book. Just imagine if the game had a soundtrack…sheesh.
On the way home, we decided it would be fun to sing songs as deep as we could, which made for some interesting pictures.
More sick
Feb. 18, 2010
I got to school only to find that Mrs. Jones was sick, so chilled in my car until history, which turned out to be quite interesting. Dr. Betty’s a really good professor.
Otherwise, I had pretty much a repeat of Tuesday.
Glad I skipped!
Feb. 17, 2010
I decided to skip my LAN hardware class today just for the heck of it. It’s not like I was gonna learn anything anyways. Had a good time with everyone at work, which is worth a whole lot more than listening to old guys talk like they keep up with technology.
Our 10-man ICC was a total fail. We can’t ever keep the same people in our group, so we get out of sync when new people get added to the mix. We decided to call it before we even got to the second wing, which kinda sucked. Oh well.
Take that, Cortés!
Feb. 16, 2010
I was lazy this morning, so I got to school almost fifteen minutes late, which meant I was counted absent for Speech anyways, so I chilled in my car for the remainder of the class. I got my history test back, and I made an 84 on it, which is really exciting considering I hate history and didn’t study at all. My internship was pretty boring, as usual.
Got home and watched LOST at 8:00, and ended up forgetting about the ICC run until it was too late. Ah well, no big deal.
Sick
Feb. 15, 2010
I woke up this morning to a terrible stomach ache. I won’t go into details, but I had all of the typical “stomach flu” symptoms, and it wasn’t pretty. I ended up going back to sleep until noon, and lounged around the house in my pajamas the rest of the day. :(
Happy birthday, Kyle!
Feb. 14, 2010
Kyle Barnes turned twenty two today. Twenty two! What an old fart! :D
Jeff and I headed over to his house and finished setting up his computer. We spent the night being nerds while being fatties and eating pizza!
Slow Saturdays, part II
Feb. 13, 2010
Work was slooow. It didn’t help that there were like sixteen of us there. To top it all off, we had to work with Lai, who’s now our second head bagger. I’m not sure whether or not she was giving us nasty looks all day, or if her face is just naturally like that, and I couldn’t understand a word she said to me. At least I got to spend time talking to the cool baggers. Jeff got us all these cute little Valentine’s Day cards, which made me feel both warm inside and nostalgic, because the last one I got was probably back when I was ten.
After last week’s horrible Saturday, I was hoping to make some decent cash today. While I did make more than last week, it still wasn’t very much compared to previous weeks.
I found out that I got paid for my internship yesterday, but overall I’m not making as much money as I used to. My most expensive purchase since school started was the video card I got yesterday—which was somewhat necessary because my old one was making my computer crash—and my second most expensive was a frappuccino from Starbucks. Speaking of which, I’ve severely cut down on my splurges like Starbucks and Stingers. They’re a “once-every-two-weeks” thing now…which makes me a sad panda. :(
